About CryptoCapital.news
CryptoCapital.news publishes free, independent tools and articles that help everyday investors understand what their money is actually worth — not just what the headline number says.
Our flagship tool, The Crypto Reality Check, was built because nearly every crypto return you see quoted online is a nominal number: it ignores inflation and taxes, the two things that determine what you can actually spend. We think that's misleading, so we built a free calculator that fixes it.
What we do
We build free calculators and publish data-driven articles on crypto, personal finance, and capital markets. The site is supported by display advertising and select affiliate partnerships — see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Methodology
The Crypto Reality Check uses embedded, approximate year-end reference prices for Bitcoin, Ethereum, the S&P 500 index, and gold (LBMA), alongside US CPI-U inflation data, covering 2013–2025. These are illustrative historical reference points compiled from public market data, not live feeds, and are not appropriate for tax filing or audited financial reporting. Tax estimates apply a flat, user-selected percentage to nominal gains only, as a simplified illustration — actual tax treatment varies by jurisdiction, holding period, and individual circumstances.
We periodically refresh the underlying dataset. The tool does not collect, store, or transmit the numbers you enter — all calculations run locally in your browser.
Editorial independence
Our articles and tool are not sponsored by any exchange, wallet, or token project. Where a page contains affiliate links, they are clearly disclosed.
